Rain Storm on Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend 2009 was met with gorgous sunny weather and a rain storm. The weather forcasters promised a big rain storm on Friday the 4th, but that day turned out to be a gorgeous day, as well as Saturday the 5th. I was showing in the gorgeous weather on Saturday. But the rain did come, but it was accompanied by thunder and lightening. We do not get many storms with thunder and lightening, so it was neat to listen to. A tree fell in my front yard, but it just fell across the road. These pictures are taken from my front porch. 
Today is again a beautiful day of sun and partly cloudy with a slight breeze.

Hi April, I know we have had a beautifully rare warm summer but I'm still not ready for it to end. This weekend could be a peek into the near future. I'm hoping for more sunny days though, how about you?

Thanks for your comment. We have had a nice summer with many sunny days and warmer than it was last year. Last year was unseasonably cool for the summer. The one heat wave we received, I was down in Southern California.
This weekend was very interesting. We had beautiful weather on Friday and Saturday. Then short spurts of buckets of rain with thunder and lightening on Sunday. Then yesterday was very lovely. But I am eternal optimist...so I have to believe that we will have nice weather for the winter :-) So we shall see.
